Celebrating Earth Day: Our Commitment to Sustainable Floral Creativity

22nd April 2024

As we celebrate Earth Day, we want to take a moment to reflect on the steps we've taken in our mission to be a sustainable floral designers.

Over the past two years, we've implemented several practices to minimize our environmental impact and promote sustainability in work and in the floral industry. Here are some of the initiatives we've undertaken:

No Floral Foam: We have completely eliminated the use of floral foam, which is harmful to the environment and non-biodegradable.

Local Organic Farmers: In addition to working with larger flower producers, we prioritize local organic farmers, supporting our local community and promoting organic, sustainable farming practices.

Seasonal, Locally-Sourced Flowers: We always seek to use seasonal flowers that are locally-sourced, with around 85% of our flowers coming from local sources.

Sustainable Design Techniques: We implement sustainable design techniques in our events, ensuring that our floral arrangements are not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly.

Education and Awareness: We seek to build awareness through workshops and are constantly educating ourselves on the wider industry and its environmental implications.

This year, we are participating in training programmes, including a carbon literacy training, to further our commitment to sustainability.

Promoting Seasonality and Local Sourcing: We actively encourage our clients to choose seasonal and locally-sourced flowers, reducing the carbon footprint of our arrangements.

Giving Flowers a Second Home: After events, we give our flowers a second home, spreading joy while minimizing waste.

Setting Sustainability Goals: We are setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track our progress toward sustainability goals and continuously improve our practices.

While we recognize that we still have a road ahead of us, we are confident that with these initiatives, we can minimize our carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable floral industry.

Happy Earth Day!
